04/10/08 - Kyu Grade Cup
On Sunday was the Kyu Grade Cup Competition which was held at High Wickham. We had three members from the club go to the competition which were Larry, Dan and James.
Dan was first to fight, he had 2 fights, went out for his first got thrown quite early on in the fight and sadly lost, but it woke him up for the second fight and he put up a much better fight and gave the guy a run for his money, but unfortunately lost that one as well.
Larry and James were called up at the same time. Larry had 3 fights, lost them but put up a good fight with them all. James only had 2 fights out of a possible as he got injured in his second and had to pull out. He unfortunately lost both of them but did good.
14/09/08 - South Coast Open Junior Age Banded Championships
On Sunday was the South Coast Open Junior Age Banded Champions which was held at Worthing. We had two members enter this competition which were Jake and Emma.
Jake had 3 fights, lost his first, won his second but then sadly lost his thrid fight and didn't get a medal.
Emma had 2 fights, one with a girl that was 7 kilos heavier then her and went on to win that fight and her second one and came back with gold.
20/08/08 - Class Master Summer Event
On Sunday was the Class Master Summer Event which was held at Tonbridge. We had 11 players enter this competition which were, Emma, Cameron, Harry, Jake, Casey, Alex, Thomas, Andrew, Jacob, Andrew and Martin.
Emma had 3 fights, won them all and got gold.
Cameron also had 3 fights, won them all and got gold.
Harry had 2 fights, won them all and also got gold.
Jake had 3 fights, lost the first fight but then went on to win the next two and came back with silver.
Casey had 6 fights, she won her first fight but then lost her second fight but then after that went on to win her next 3 fighta, but then sadly lost her last fight but came away with silver.
Alex had 3 fights, sadly lost them all but came back with 5th bronze.
Thomas had 3 fights, also sadly lost them all but came back with 5th bronze.
Andrew had 3 fights, sadly lost them all but came back with 5th bronze.
Jacob had 3 fights, also sadly lost them all but came back with 5th bronze.
Andrew had 2 fights, sadly lost them all but came back with 3rd bronze.
Martin had 2 fights, also sadly lost them all but came back with 3rd bronze.
Jacob, Andrew and Thomas all receved 'Spirit Of Judo' Awards on the day as well.
02/03/08 - South Of England
On Sunday was the South Of England Competition which was held at K2, Crawley. We only had two members from the club go to the competition which were Larry and Hayley.
Hayley unfortunally had no one in her weight group, nor in the group above or below her group and sadly was not able to compete in the competition.
Larry had six in his group and was split in to two pools of three. He had 3 fights, lost the first fight, won the second by ippon and then lost his thrid and final fight, but came away with a bronze medal.
11/11/07 - Sussex Junior Red Belt And Yellow Belt Open
On Sunday was the Sussex Junior Red Belt And Yellow Belt Open which we had Tristan, Andrew, Alex Harry, Jake, Andrew, Martin, Aaron, Casey, Georgina and Ann-Marie take part in.
Tristan had 3 fights, lost his first but went on to win his second and third fights and came back with a bronze medal.
Andrew had 2 fights sadly lost them both and didn't come back with a medal.
Alex had 3 fights lost his first, but won his second, but then sadly lost his third fight and also didn't come back with a medal.
Harry had 2 fights lost them both and also didn't come back with a medal.
Jake had 2 fights lost them both and sadly didn't come back with a medal.
Andrew had 4 fights worked really hard with all of them but didn't come back with a medal nether.
Martin had 3 fights, lost his first, got a win on his second, but then sadly lost his final fight and didn't come back with a medal.
Aaron had 2 fights in his first competition sadly lost them both, but in first fight he had 2 koka's and a wuzari and was winning but unfortunetly lost it in the last 10 seconds of the fight to a Ippon.
Casey had 3 fights lost her first and second fights but got a win for her third which allowed her to come away with a bronze medal.
Georgina had 2 fights and was put in a mixed group. She lost both of them but came away with a silver medal.
Ann-Marie had 3 fights and also was put in a mixed group. She lost them but also came away with a silver medal.
